In my lifetime, I never saw employers imposing mandatory medical treatments on employees—until Covid. Many companies did not question the constitutionality of this. They became victims of an illegal mandate and then victimized their employees. The federal government promised some companies millions of dollars to get to a 90% shot rate. Ciraci v. Smuckers argument
The governments USED corporations to do their dirty work. But some took advantage of the situation.
"Smuckers used their own plan" but they didn't do their due diligence to verify the vaccines were safe and effective. They are not in the vaccine business. So they trusted the FDA and CDC. But Smuckers FAILURE was in not using common sense. They actually believed a SAFE vaccine could be developed and tested in the time period it did. REALITY says it can't. Smuckers and other corps literally 'lost their minds'
Philips Healthcare said regardless of the federal mandate, vaccinating is "the right thing to do" (Frans Van Houten & Vitor Rocha). How would they know? They make medical DEVICES not pharmaceuticals. Philips had a different motive to coerce their employees. They were planning a MAJOR downsizing, RIF in 2022. Their announcement of the vaccine mandate in Oct of 2021 - or else be 'voluntarily quitted' caused many resignations and any that remained were fired as resignations. This deceptive tactic saved Philips millions of dollars to avoid WARN act requirements and paid severance benefits.
