I hear this same assumption a lot. Good, honest people can't fathom that pharmaceutical companies, health systems, and scientists would ever knowingly release something that doesn't work, is harmful, or doesn't have a valid scientific foundation. No one would ever harm a child.... right? Until five years ago, I was one of those doctors, thinking that the government agencies were doing their jobs, I was getting the true data, and the companies would be prosecuted and be put out of business if harm was actually occurring.
