Losing its grip on responsible health care

This week, some Akron Childrens Hospital Nurses temporarily refused to work due to unsafe working conditions. Bad hospital conditions follow recent mass staff layoffs due to irresponsible and discriminatory Covid-19 injection mandates. Patient care is deteriorating and the remaining staff members are overwhelmed.

The hospital’s administration is ignoring research that shows how stupid the injection mandate is. Courageous front-line workers, exposed to Covid-19 daily for two years, have robust natural immunity making them well-suited to care for and protect patients. Remarkably, the CDC has recently recognized that those recovered from COVID-19 have more protection against infection than those only injected. The study is here. It states:

• By early October, [2021] persons who survived a previous infection had lower case rates than persons who were vaccinated alone…

• By the week beginning October 3, [2021] compared with COVID-19 cases rates among unvaccinated persons without a previous COVID-19 diagnosis, case rates among vaccinated persons without a previous COVID-19 diagnosis were 6.2-fold (California) and 4.5-fold (New York) lower; rates were substantially lower among both groups with previous COVID-19 diagnoses, including 29.0-fold (California) and 14.7-fold lower (New York) among unvaccinated persons with a previous diagnosis, and 32.5-fold (California) and 19.8-fold lower (New York) among vaccinated persons with a previous diagnosis of COVID-19.

Furthermore, employees who sought religious exemptions for sincere religious beliefs have been discriminated against by the hospital. Note: It is also illegal to discriminate on religious or ADA grounds when hiring new staff.

Childrens is injecting children who are at almost zero risk from Covid-19. This puts children at risk for myocarditis and a raft of other diseases in the future. Ongoing complications from injections may be a good for hospital business but this is bad for children. As of October 2021, Gessner estimated Children’s was injecting 2,000 children per month and had injected around 50,000 to date. With the risk of injury from the injection higher than any risk from Covid-19, this is unconscionable behavior inviting tragedy. Another article on risk is here.
